Pinpointe FootLaser Treatment Q & A

What is PinPointe FootLaser?

The PinPointe FootLaser is the first light-based laser device to receive FDA clearance to treat toenail fungus.

The light energy targets and destroys fungus that grows under your nail or in your nail bed. Fungi can enter your skin through small cuts or cracks in your feet. You might develop toenail fungus if you walk barefoot in damp areas or if your feet are often sweaty inside your shoes.

Treatment with the PinPointe FootLaser reduces the need for you to take antifungal medications that can cause unwanted side effects, including liver damage. You also get results with laser treatments that you can’t achieve with oral or topical medications.

When should I consider PinPointe FootLaser treatments?

You should schedule a diagnostic evaluation at Advanced Foot Care and Clinical Research Center if you have symptoms of toenail fungus. An infection causes yellowish discoloration in your nails. They might also grow thick or become brittle and crumbly.

While toenail fungus might not cause you discomfort, the condition can affect how you feel about the appearance of your feet. The fungus can also spread to your other toenails if left untreated.

What happens during PinPointe FootLaser treatments?

During your visit for PinPointe FootLaser treatment, your foot and ankle specialist at Advanced Foot Care and Clinical Research Center targets the fungal infection in your nail with the light laser to destroy it.

Treatment with the advanced laser takes less than 30 minutes, and your provider ensures you’re comfortable throughout your appointment.

Treatment with the PinPointe FootLaser doesn’t provide immediate results, but a healthy, new nail continues to grow over time to replace the fungus-damaged nail. Thanks to the laser, you don’t have to take any medications or apply messy topical products to heal your nail.

The laser technology is highly effective at clearing fungal infections in just one treatment. There’s minimal risk for side effects, and you can go home soon after your procedure with no limitations.
